Once again we see a collection containing Paleo artifacts and this
time it is from Crete, Illinois rather than Peotone. Crete lies only
about eight to ten miles south of what was once the ancient shores of Lake
Chicago. This makes one wonder just how many Paleo sites exist in
this area as the lake, 14,000 years ago, drained southwards. The
small ovate unifaces show nice workmanship and the knife/scraper shown
at the top left is typical Paleo.
