This grouping of artifacts are some of my favorites from my uncle’s
finds. At the top left we start with a beautiful Hardin, followed
by two more crudely-made ones. Next to the three Hardins is a very
nice Kirk Corner Notch and what appears to have been a Thebes drill, minus
the “drill”. John Duncan took a look at the first point,
second row and said it was a form of Thebes. The next artifact is
a Heavy Duty. The last two points in that row I am not sure of typology
so they shall remain unnamed for the time being, but they are both very
nice, most likely Paleo Transitional to Early Archaic. The bottom
row starts off with a partial drill, a Kirk, another partial drill, a rather
large knife, followed by one of those “I’m not exactly sure” type partial
artifacts which shall remain untyped for the moment. The last artifact,
shown bottom row at the far right, was found at the golf course many years
ago....one-half was found one year and the other half was found the next........talk
about lucky.
