Of special note are the two center points - both exhibit typical forms
of basal-fracturing found in the Kirk Snapped base typology. The
hafting thus created assures a better, more long-lasting and stable mounting
for the point. Approximately coeval in time with Decatur points (among
others also
exhibiting basal fracturing), it must be assumed that such hafting
technology was known to other cultural groups, and the advantages of
such application recognized and widely, if not comprehensively, used. |
