This beautiful Greenbrier will always hold a special place in my heart
and is the only point that I found in one piece this year. I had
scoured over 80 acres containing sites and had found absolutely nothing
and had been looking for several days. I decided to check on a small
rise that contains debitage material, but in very sparse numbers, and I
absolutely couldn’t believe it when I saw this point lying there on the
top of the ground.......and I will always remember that moment. This
artifact is exactly as it was when it’s maker finished with it and I often
wonder how it came to be where I found it. My thanks go to Robert
Peterson, John Duncan, Chuck Wiggins
and, of course, ‘Stone’ for helping in identifying typology as I am
rather new to “typing” points. I truly appreciate all the help that has
been given me while I learn......and that goes for all the good tips concerning
the use of computers too....thanks to all. I hope you enjoy the beauty
of this ancient piece of art and marvel at it’s evasion of the modern farm
equipment........I do.
