The first two artifacts, one worked down into a drill form, show delicate
collateral flaking with heavily ground stems and bases and would fall into
the late Paleo-Early Archaic traditions.
The large blunt is made of heat-treated material and the back side
(not shown) only has edgework. Next we have the middle of what
appears to be a Kirk, followed by a bifurcate.
Shown in the second row are two points that fall under the Table Rock
Cluster, the next three are undetermined and the last artifact is
a uniface. All artifacts shown in the bottom row once again speak
of damage wrought by agricultural equipment.
The original farmhouse and buildings set atop a large, high hill and
debitage surrounds this particular spot. Only the partial Kirk and
the bottom left artifact were found adjacent to the farm site. All
other pieces were found on other sites located on this particular farm
property. I can’t even begin to imagine what might lie underneath
the area of the original farmhouse area that is on such a high, prominent
hill..........well, yes I can imagine.
