A Visit to Fishbourne Roman Palace

A mosaic floor which was put down in the beginning of the second century A.D. over an earlier black and white mosaic which can still be seen in patches beneath it. The upper floor with the Medusa head at the center was made my inexperienced craftsmen as errors can be seen in the patterns. The ruts in the floor were made by medieval ploughing.
