Walked Friday, 28 degrees and 20 mph winds, perfect weather to keep the deer hunters at home. First I found what is left of a Snyders, shows re-sharpening and wear on the broken shoulder, creek beat it up too. Next I found a super thin blade half way up the dirt bank, so sharp it had to have fallen from the dirt above. We have been watching these banks for about 2 years and never even found a flake, now this falls out. Third piece was in some chunky gravel, lightly turned by the last rain. Last, Joe found a colorful butt end. We both found a few other broken pieces. Hope these shots give you a little better feel for being in the creek yourself and seeing where the artifacts are found, there definately is a pattern to where artifacts are found in the rolling gravel.. |
