Patrick Baumann's Best Dig Ever

This is a shot of the begining of what has been my all time best dig. From the shovel to the wall I dug 3 feet down and the next series of photos is what I found, most of it in October in about 7 trips. Notice the soil color, hard as a rock down 10 inches, most stuff came from about the 20 to 30 inch level, esp the Dalton stuff.

I found the group and the iron ore ball (any ideas?), my bro-in-law Steve found the nice side notched blade, very heavily beveled.  (pictured below) Cooool.......

Now I had reached the wall, opened up a spot about 5 foot wide and started working sideways in both directions.

The sand deposit, pictured below, was to the left bank after I reached the wall:  it is away from the shelter and seems to be from highwaters.  I'm working my way down into the sand now. So far, no real finds deeper in the sand, not even flint, but I'll keep digging......
