Bev Mckinnerney Ranch
Outside Junction, Texas
Highlights:
Doug finds a museum quality Perdiz.
We meet Pete and get to see his awesome cave-dug finds.
It's a long drive down many dirt roads to get to Bev's
ranch.
This photo was actually taken on the way out as there
was a rain to keep the dust down.
Bev has offered up her midden for others to work at---
email
her for more info.
I'll be posting more photos as soon as some film gets
developed---- many were taken without a digital camera.
Doug had the find-of-the-day
with this 2-3/8" perfect Perdiz. This picture just doesn't do it justice.
Other than the Perdiz, we had time to pull out this little
grouping of artifacts.
There were a few more pieces that didn't get photographed
but may show up here later.
Note the nice little bone bead near the Perdiz-- also
the little Angostura (which was a surface find).
Most of what was found definitely placed this site into
the Woodland period.
There's a lot more to be dug at Bev's ranch--- our dig
got interrupted by rain--- we'll be back.
