Well, we had some rain out at the site and
found more erosion eating the place up.
But as you will see, some good finds came
out of the eroded ravine we've been working.
As you can see the ravine is showing some erosion.
Above the spot I'm standing used to be a rockshelter
that was blown up
as part of the limestone quarrying that goes on here.
The black layer is actually materials that were bulldozed
into the ravinehead.
Below you can see that there is trash mixed in with the
layer.
See the bottle bottom in the left side of the pic?
Here, an anonymous Dirt Sister works the seam.
This husband and wife team made the best finds of the day:
This is the kind of late archaic finds the muddled seam
contains.
The Darl (3rd from the left) is an exceptionally thin
and well flaked point.
Occasionally, large Pedernales, and less frequently,
Castrovilles come out of the same layer.
Last month, at the bottom of the seam, Dave C. found
a real fine DALTON.
Two half Andices have also been found in this seam bottom.
