Dirt Brother Bob's
Latest Mystery Stone
October 14, 1999

Bob found this mystery stone while surface hunting near the confluence of the
Pedernales and Colorado Rivers. It is perfectly flat and ground at the base, so
the stone can "stand up", as pictured. The stone is soft limestone with flint inclusions---
It is definitely not a tool such as a chopper or hammerstone--- it's too soft.
The "back" of the stone is natural and soft limestone.
The flat surface on the top of the raised area is etched away, leaving the curious
pattern seen there that "splits" the light brown from the etched white.
