| Before the sifted materials are counted, they must be carefully washed and then left to thoroughly dry. It's amazing what can be found in the pile.... we found several artifact fragments, as well as bone and mussel fragments we'd missed at the sifter. Here we washed the items, then placed them on a layer of paper towels on top of a sifting screen. |
