Unit C: Back in the Pit!
We decided to save the entire pedestal containing the snails and submit it to a floatation sift. This sift will be covered in full in this section when we complete it. Floatation sifting separates very light items that conventional sifting would miss and could tell us what this pile of snails means.

Here's a picture of a complex floatation sift machine.... we likely will just use a bucket!

Meantime you get to see what the pedestal looks like inside as we carefully break it apart and place it into a plastic bag....

This shot's shown with enhanced contrast.

Now that we're caught up on our lab work, we plan many more hours at this dig....
Keep coming back to the website for updates, and come dig with us!
