Raul sends us this cool photomontage of the mountain that divides the valley of  Icamole from the valley of Boca de Potrerillos.
Boca de Potrerillos is in the back of this mountain which is 20 km long.

Picture A:
This photo is the entrance of the valley. Can you see in the left side, a corner of two mountains that make a 90 grade angle? Here, there is one of the sites where we found some points.

Picture B:
In the areas were you see the natural creeks going down the hill, we found a lot of fossils: Tthere are shells petrified and a lot of diferent types of caracol, all this going down the hill by the erosion of the top of the mountain

Tthis area of the mountain is less studied and there are a lot of places were you can identify the old fireplaces. We only hunt artifacts  on the surface, but the anthroplogist who works on the other side of the mountain at boca de Potrerillos has excavated some fireplaces and they found different ages: the first from 6900 years before present, almost 9000 year old, and the most recent from year 1760 of our age  The anthropologists studying there are from Austin TX, I will send more info because they wrote a book where they show his research.

Picture C:
Here at the right end is the entrance to the second valley (Boca de Potrerillos).

I hope you enjoy Raul's Valley..... email him if you've got comments. I'm sure he'd like to hear from you:  Email Raul
