Dirt Bro Ray sends us pics from the NE US:
Here are a few more. The oldest I have found was fluted point of 10,000 years BP. Very little flint. Most of White Quartz, Quartzite. The closest flint mine is in Coxackie NY. I have been there and it's awsome. The flint vein runs about a mile long, and about a 100 feet high of tailings. Carbon dating their went back to 20,000 years........ So was worked between iceages. The flint is grey and apple green and very easy to work. Hope this is of some help. Enjoy Ray |
