....thought someone would find this interesting. this is the bluff where the  famous sandia cave is located. it's in the sandia mountains just west of Albuquerque New Mexico. the cave is in the upper right hand, in the shadows. This is an old photo but if you look hard you might be able to make out a series of scaffolds built up to the cave. There is actually no way to get into cave unless you repel down to it or someway climb up a straight rock wall. There was a metal gate across the opening to the cave so nobody could get into it, Digging was still being done in the cave. Trees leaned over would not be able to reach cave entrance and modern day extension ladders would probibly not reach as cave is close to 50 ft. straight up bluff. Scaffolding now allows people to get up to cave and I dont know if it is open to public now or not. it is in a really dangerous place. Check out the beautiful view.
