From Dirt Bro member Charles
Swenson in TX:
Charles visited Long's Fish Camp & Arrowhead Dig, in Kingsland, TX, and was shown the artifact featured here.... email Bob or Charles if you've seen anything like this before!!! " From the rear there is a clear indication of the remnants of a hand on the right shoulder, which leads me to speculate that the original position of the left arm was across the body and onto the the shoulder/neck of the figurine. There was no clear suggestion from the surviving portion of what the right arm would have been doing. James thought he could detect some indication of a "topknot" on the rear of the figurine's head, but m'impression of this was not as strong. So what in the hell is it? It's utter simplicity,
as well as it's poor general condition, tend towards it's not being a fraud.
As the original owner was only asking twenty bucks for it, this also, in
m'mind,
Thanks Charles!.
