From Dirt Bro member  Charles Swenson in TX:

Charles visited Long's Fish Camp & Arrowhead Dig, in Kingsland, TX, and was shown the artifact featured here.... email Bob or Charles if you've seen anything like this before!!!

"The simplicity of design seems to suggest that it comes from a relatively primitive culture, yet one advanced enough to have developed at least some rudimentary work with pottery.  The only real possible clue to where it may have originated seems to be the series of five notches on the forehead, suggestive of a local hair style.  The facial proportions are almost childlike, with it's severely minimal representation of two eyes, a marginal nose without even nostrils, and the single line barely
indicating a smiling mouth.  This suggests little contact with more complex modes of expression in clay, but then again the hand on the right shoulder, with it's probable crossed left arm indicate a richer cultural context.  The legs, on the other hand, emerge from the base with no clear indications of feet or knees, unrealistically short.

All in all, a hell of a find, even if it was someone else's."

Thanks Charles!.
Bob
