3.5"x1.5" Benton point (Middle Archaic   6000 - 4000 BP)
From Dirt Bro Fossil in N. Indiana:

These are some of my finds from November and were found the same day. The big one is super-thin with parallel flaking. I'll tell ya, it really flipped my lid to find these! This spot has a lot of grey in the soil, almost a white.

Five feet away I found a Madison...[a Mississipian point 1100 - 200 BP, Bob]....go figure..hehe.  these were the only two Agates, but there also was a little stunner with 5 basal thinning flakes.

I've been reading up on these Agate Basin sites and have been hearing talk of them making points out of broken tips. The small one has to be a salvage tip.

This was my first attempt at this site, which makes the experience all the greater. Happy hunting!

Thanks, Fossil!
Bob
