From Dirt Sis Member Linda Morris in Texas: 
This is stone....some sort of slate or maybe limestone....but it's not really porous like limestone. The site is on my sister's property (in Georgetown, TX) and they basically dug a hole 3 feet deep and bulldozed the site into the holes....How I found this on the surface is a mystery.
 
Thanks, Linda! I was there when Linda showed this rock to Dr. Michael B. Collins, Principal Investigator of the Gault Site--- 
He thinks it could be of paleo age as it is similar to etched stones found at the Gault Site.
