I hope everyone has had a good summer! I know updates have been slow in coming. I am trying to accumulate posts while at the same time keeping my grades up! Finally! My first year of graduate school is complete!

I just got back from participating in the 2008 Texas State University, San Marcos Field School at the Cross Bar Ranch in Potter County, Texas. It was a real adventure! Aside from living in a small tent for three weeks, we were accosted by constant heavy winds, rattlesnakes, bees, bad water and lightning! We were investigating an Antelope Creek phase ruin dating from about A.D. 1150 through to A.D. 1450. We were hoping to excavate a single family household but the site turned out to be somewhat enigmatic. Took time to visit Taos Pueblo, Bandelier, and Pecos.  Look for a photo-packed Road Trip post soon!
